The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) confirmed that the Israeli occupation has demolished at least 474 Palestinian-owned buildings in the West Bank since the beginning of this year, which amounts to a war crime.

According to the Ma’an Agency, the office announced in a report today that the Israeli occupation authorities have demolished 474 Palestinian buildings since the beginning of 2021, explaining that the demolitions have led to the displacement of 656 Palestinians, including about 359 children, which constitutes a grave violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention and amounts to war crimes.

The report pointed out that the demolitions carried out by the occupation against Palestinian homes increased by 32 percent in the number of targeted buildings and about 70 percent in the number of displaced Palestinians compared to the same period in 2020.

The report indicated that 84 Palestinians lost their homes in one day, on the 14th of July, after the Israeli occupation forces confiscated at least 49 buildings in the Ras al-Tin pastoral community in the Jordan Valley.

The Israeli occupation continues its violations against the Palestinians, disregarding all international norms and laws, by assaulting them, killing them, demolishing their homes, displacing them and seizing their lands.
