"We are no longer afraid." "We no longer have anything to lose." That was the message of thousands of Cubans who took to the streets this Sunday, in unusual protests to reject the economic situation and the lack of freedom. The question of what is happening in Cuba marked the week's agenda, as internet access was restricted and it was reported that more than 100 people were arrested or are missing after the demonstrations. Meanwhile, thousands of kilometers away, the violence in Afghanistan did not cease: a video was released in which it is seen how the Taliban shoot down Afghan commandos after an apparent surrender. The Taliban rejected the video, saying it is fabricated. But, the week also left us a tender image to frame: a woman seeking to adopt a dog found the one she lost 2 years ago.And they met.

Here are the most impressive videos of the week:

Cuba takes to the streets in massive protests

Thousands of Cubans took to the streets in unusual protests on Sunday to complain about the lack of freedom and the worsening economic situation, according to protesters who spoke to CNN.

Various videos show thousands of people protesting in various cities on the island.

Several were arrested.

What is happening in Cuba?

Precisely, the unprecedented demonstrations broke out on an island between misery and covid-19.

In response to the protests, President Miguel Díaz-Canel assured that the United States trade sanctions created poverty on the island.

And, while the world was closely following what was happening in Cuba and the limited information that came out of the country, crude videos were released that account for what happens on the island after the internet was restricted.

Social media is often a source of information in chaotic situations like the protests that broke out on Sunday.

But the government there has limited internet access by reducing the number of photos or videos available.

Still, allegations of abuse have come to light in incidents that authorities describe as falsehoods.

This is the case of Marbely Vásquez, who in a video denounced that the Cuban police broke into her house, shot her husband and took him away by force, all in front of her children.

This would have happened in Cárdenas, Matanzas province.

CNN has not identified how the video was produced nor has it been able to obtain testimonials of what happened.

The case of the Cuban youtuber Dina Stars also generated concern, as she was in the middle of an interview with a Spanish television channel when she assured that the authorities had arrived to take her away.

After a few minutes off camera, the young woman announced that they were asking her to accompany them and that she did not know if they were going to arrest her.

The youtuber was released shortly after and posted a video on her Instagram account to tell what happened.

This was his story.

"A failed state".

This is how US President Joe Biden defined Cuba this Thursday during a joint press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The president added that the country "represses its citizens."

Biden added that his government is analyzing whether the United States has the technological capacity to provide Internet to Cuba, as well as the possibility of sending vaccines against covid-19, if any international body guarantees that it would administer them equally.
