"We take these reports very seriously": After several puzzling cases of illness among US diplomats in Vienna, Austria promises help with the investigation.
Sudden dizziness
As reported by the AP news agency, members of the US mission in Austria's capital and other government employees reported suspicious symptoms of the disease on Friday.
Those affected complained of sudden dizziness and headaches.
The symptoms known as "Havana Syndrome", which cause headaches and nausea, had recently accumulated among US personnel stationed in Vienna.
"We take these reports very seriously and, in accordance with our role as host state, are working with the US authorities on a joint investigation," said the Austrian Foreign Ministry.
The symptoms appeared in Cuba five years ago
Since the syndrome first appeared in the Cuban capital Havana in 2016, dozens of diplomats around the world have complained about it.
The US has expressed suspicion that those affected were attacked using radio frequencies.
