The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, ruled out filing a complaint after an investigation revealed that a part of his close circle had been a potential target of espionage in 2016 and 2017, through the Pegasus software, developed by the company NSO Group.
However, he maintained that if there was a contract with the company, it would be canceled immediately.
For their part, civil organizations have asked the Attorney General's Office to investigate the Pegasus operation.
