She knew God and the world, was valued and welcomed everywhere.

Rosemarie Stahl was an asset to local politics in Puchheim.

Puchheim - "She took up all the issues that were brought to her without any problems," recalls the former mayor Herbert Kränzlein.

Rosemarie Stahl was his longtime political companion, most recently his second deputy and thus the first woman in a mayor's office in Puchheim.

She fought the fight for equal rights for women in the family, at work and in public life with passion.

Shaped by a strong mother who raised three children as a single parent, Rosi Stahl also became a strong woman.

Born in 1940 in Stuttgart, grew up in Silesia and on a Einsiedlerhof in the Lower Bavarian district of Dingolfing, she graduated from secondary school.

At a party she met a young man named Hans Stahl who was determined to become a police officer and wanted to go to Munich.

He managed both - the only thing missing was his sweetheart.

But to live together you needed a marriage certificate.

Rosi Stahl was happy to tell later about the phone call when he excitedly said: "I have an apartment, we have to get married." She would have liked the proposal a little more romantic. Nevertheless, it turned out to be a happy marriage. In Munich, Rosi Stahl worked in administration at TÜV until the first of her two sons was born. The young family moved from Aubing to a terraced house in Puchheim in the early 1970s, thereby fulfilling their dream of having their own home with a garden. Rosi Stahl would spend many more happy hours here and harvest a lot of home-grown vegetables.

Above all, however, she joined the SPD on January 1, 1972 and quickly became a mainstay of the local association. She held various board positions, was a local councilor for 21 years and third mayor for six years. As a consultant for town twinning, she maintained relationships with Puchheim's Hungarian partner communities Nagykanizsa and Zalakaros and was involved in the German-Hungarian Association. During her twelve years in the district council, the enthusiastic tennis player set accents among other things as a school clerk.

The year 2011 brought a stroke of fate from which the bearer of the citizen's medal never really recovered.

Her always healthy, agile Hans fell ill with cancer and was dead within three months. Rosi Stahl was not made for being alone - she quickly slipped into solitude, losing more and more of her happiness and zest for life.

For the grandmother of a grandson, the last few years have been marked by illness and increasing need for care.

She eventually died in a retirement home in Munich-Schwabing.

Rosi Stahl was 81 years old.
