With the aim of supporting hemophilia patients and introducing the talents of children and youth among them, the Syrian Society for Hemophilia patients today held an event entitled “Together to Stay” in which about 70 children and young people participated.

The event, which was held at the Cultural Center in Mezzeh, included singing by the choir “Move Jasmine”, a group of traditional songs, an exhibition of painting and handicrafts entitled “Rainbow”, a solo playing of the law, and a presentation of films introductory to the activities of the association.

In a speech during the event, the association’s president, Dr. Tahani Ali, indicated that the association, which was established in 2006, currently provides its services to 1,370 patients from different governorates, and its work includes several programs, including diagnosis, introducing remedial measures, and providing medication if available, as this was affected by unilateral coercive economic measures. The side is on Syria, in addition to the articular injection program, surgical procedures, preventive treatment and home treatment.

Dr. Ali pointed out that the “Jasmine Waves” choir programs and the rainbow exhibition are two recreational activities launched by the association in 2018 with the aim of providing psychological and social support to patients and taking care of the talents of children and young people registered with the association and their families, in addition to the swimming program that benefits 44 children, noting the importance of these programs in terms of showing talents Children and their involvement with their families in cultural and social activities and to show their ability to challenge the disease and that they are like other normal people.

In the speech of the mothers of hemophilia patients, Rima Al-Masry indicated the importance of concerted efforts to support hemophilia patients, their mothers and their families, so that these children become productive and effective, stressing the importance of working to provide preventive medicine to patients on a permanent basis.

With the manifestations of childhood that challenged the disease between Hassan Al-Youssef “9 years”, the event is an opportunity for the audience to hear his talent for singing with the choir, in which his sister Aya also participates, while Raafat Herkal, 14, painted four paintings presented in the exhibition expressing cartoon characters and silent landscapes, stressing that the difficulties of illness can be overcome. Show skills and continue studying with excellence.

The child’s mother, Muhammad Nour Al-Khatib, praised the association’s role in taking care of children’s talents and integrating them into a diverse social and family environment, in addition to medical and therapeutic support for them.

Hemophilia, according to the World Federation of Hemophilia, is a rare disease in which people bleed for a longer time than normal people.
