"Today

justice was served

. After the misfortune I had, an exemplary trial was made and I hope it will be repeated in the next easy-trigger trials,"

the victim's father, Jorge Rego (62)

, told

Clarín

.

The case

It all happened in the early morning of Sunday, August 12, 2018. Around 2.40 in the morning, “Bocha” got into his Peugeot Partner truck heading to Pompeii.

"

Shelter the baby that will arrive in five minutes

," was the last message he sent to his wife, who was waiting for him at a friend's house.

In Ancaste and Iguazú, eight agents from the Prefecture made signs for him to stop, but the young man evaded control.

“It had been a few days since I had bought the truck.

He still had to make the transfer.

We are sure that she

did not stop because she believed that she could be kidnapped or demanded money

, ”Jorge said.

"Bocha" followed another hundred meters.

Upon reaching Monteagudo, he made a U-turn and returned to Ancaste, in the direction of the operation.

At the height of the prefects, Second Corporal Brites fired two shots.

One of them went through the seat and hit Rego on the back, who drove another 400 meters, until he collided with a parked van.

The owner of this vehicle woke up, went out and called 911. The Federal Police were on their way.

The first to arrive at the crime scene were the eight prefects.

López, Viana, Carrizo and Fernández had searched for the casings expelled by the shots, in order to hide them and alter the crime scene.

"

It was an accident

", was the version that they gave to the Police and the Firemen.

"They had Penna Hospital four or five blocks away, but they weren't able to move him. They let him die," Jorge recalls.

That is why, except for Brites, the rest were accused of "concealment and breach of the duties of a public official."

Brites also handed over his regulation weapon with a full magazine.

He planted two projectiles, to simulate that he had not fired.

Days before his execution, "Bocha" had shared his happiness on Facebook: "

The only thing I needed to feel complete was to be a father

."

Bastian, her baby, was her first child.

When he died, he was 40 days old.

From the birth of the baby, everything seemed to be heading: Rego had moved into an apartment with his wife and Bastian and bought a truck to use in his father's meat delivery.

His idea was to add more products to offer, such as eggs and supreme.

Before working with Jorge, he had worked as a supermarket cashier, in a toy wholesaler and doing courier services.
