The priest Olivier Maire, killed in the night from Sunday to Monday in Saint-Laurent-Sur-Sèvre (Vendée), died of
“violent blows”
to the head, the parquet of La Roche informed Tuesday evening. sur-Yon, in a press release.
An autopsy of the priest's body was performed Tuesday in Nantes.

According to the
press
release,
“the result was that the victim presented six lesions, all located on the head, caused by violent blows.
These significant cerebral lesions resulted in internal and external hemorrhages, the death being, according to the conclusions of the forensic expert, intervened quickly after the blows had been dealt
”.
Olivier Maire was killed Monday by a man who was staying in his religious community in Vendée.
The latter went himself to the gendarmerie to denounce himself.
According to the prosecution, the first elements of the autopsy do not, however, determine the nature of the murder weapon.
