A report was received yesterday (Monday) at noon in the police station of Merhav Shefela about a young man who was seen abusing a dog while holding him outside an apartment window in the streets, beating him and shaking him tightly.

The suspect also threatened his neighbor with a knife who tried to intervene with the aim of stopping the abuse of the dog.
Police officers who arrived at the scene arrested the suspect, a 25-year-old resident of Rehovot, who began raging and attacking the police officers.
Due to the medical condition of the suspect he was referred to hospital and today will be brought before a judge at the request of the police to extend his detention.
