Afghan President Ashraf Ghani left the country on Sunday, a senior Afghan official and a senior diplomatic source confirmed to CNN.
Meanwhile, the Taliban have entered Kabul, the capital, arguing that they were doing so because the Afghan government security forces had abandoned their posts.
