The Ministry of Health warns of a new corona strain: "If it comes to Israel - we will reach a closure"

The Ministry of Health warned this morning (Monday) of the introduction of new strains of the corona virus into Israel.

During a discussion in the Knesset's Constitution Committee on the outline of the new Ben Gurion Airport, Dr. Ashi Shalmon, director of the ministry's international relations department, warned against the South American strain, which he says has already spread in the United States: " "We will reach a closure that we so desperately want to avoid."

Ilana Gens, head of the public health department at the Ministry of Health, says that the Delta strain is 97% high in Israel, and that "there is nothing to prevent it from continuing to enter the country. We are talking about other dangerous variants that could enter, such as the South American variant."
