The project:

Renovation of a garden apartment in Raanana

Space:

140 sq.m. + 120 sq.m. Garden

Design:

Daniel Michaeli

After purchasing this contractor apartment in Raanana, the couple who purchased it began to prepare for entry and living in it.

During the process of requesting the changes from the contractor and after they started choosing the house, they realized that they needed adjustments to their needs.

So turn to interior designer Daniel Michaeli, who will help them design the house of their dreams.

"The couple approached me with a certain concept in mind, but said that they were having a hard time implementing it, and this is where I come into the picture," says Michaeli.

The tenants asked for "something in the middle" and received much more than that

This is not the only indulgence here.

"When the couple was in the tenant change phase and started choosing some of the options they faced, like bathroom ceramics, they felt they were making mistakes, and wanted to enlist the help of a professional who knew how to lead them through the process. They decided to contact me. "Too dark, a dramatic house with a luxurious garden and an emphasis on certain things that were in their vision, like a bedroom that will feel just like a suite in a hotel with an exit to the garden."

Indeed, already at the entrance to the house one can see the dramatic effect that the couple sought to achieve.

The house is decorated in dark shades with extensive use of black in the space and other dark elements, such as a dark gray curtain in the living room, yet it is very bright.

One of the elements that contributes greatly to the dramatic look of the apartment is the high ceiling - 4.5 meters high.

In the living room, the TV wall became a wall of power born of the desire for the house to have a fireplace.

To do this, a unique item is created with a fine porcelain coating that will fit the fireplace.

Behind the TV was a wooden slat cladding and a wall opposite - a work of art made by an artist was hung and blends in wonderfully with the space.

As mentioned, when the work with the designer began, the tenants were already after choosing the floor coverings and to match the living room floor to the design, narrow tiles measuring 3.20 by 1.60 meters were chosen, glued over the existing tiles and giving a marble floor look.

Tall showcases and a fully integrated kitchen enhance and take advantage of the height of the ceilings.

The kitchen also corresponds with the dramatic look of the living room.

The designer took advantage of the high ceilings when he chose to place high showcases and a fully integrated kitchen, in a design that continues the chosen line.

Despite the large space in the house, it does not have a dining area, but an island with 6 seats, where family members eat.

When they host, and they often do, they open a table in the wide space of the house or host in the garden.

Pampering and suitable for entertaining or just for those who want to spend hours in it.

The garden covers 120 square meters, a rifle paved with black flooring with a combination of thin IFA with thin slats. The garden is luxurious and suitable for entertaining or just for those who want to spend hours in it. It has a Jacuzzi, seating areas with removable projector and hidden sound systems The couple requested that tropical vegetation be placed as part of the landscape architecture, which would require less investment from them in the day-to-day care.

The parents' bedroom did fulfill their request for a luxurious suite.

The high ceiling continues even inside the bedroom and a drywall is built behind the bed.

This wall is sewn with a fabric-lined cladding, with gold brass between them and mirrors on the sides.

In the opposite wall where the TV is located, a special custom furniture item is created, which produces an asymmetrical composition that adds interest to the space.

Other custom furniture items are also found in the bathrooms in the home, such as unique bathroom cabinets with stools.

And another special treat is a parquet floor with underfloor heating installed in the bedrooms.

"The floor was installed with a new technology, with special fibers and without radiation, and it is considered a relatively inexpensive system that provides an excellent solution for the cold days."
