The costs for Tegernbach's outdoor pool renovation threaten to get out of hand - mainly because of a separate technical building.

This is now being put to the test.

Rudelzhausen

- In the local council of Rudelzhausen, there was recently talk of a cost explosion and, as a result, of a plan B, i.e. alternatives to the renovation of the popular outdoor pool in Tegernbach. Instead of the originally assumed 1.7 million euros, due to increased costs for master builders and the like, more currently 2.15 million euros can be expected. At the initiative of the municipal council, a second planning office was recently consulted during an on-site visit. Half of the committee and Mayor Michael Krumbucher took part. The local insight now had an aftermath.

As Krumbucher admitted in the most recent meeting in view of “a cost increase of 50 percent”, the award did not work as expected.

Therefore, it is now necessary to re-examine the trades that have not yet been permanently assigned.

That should be the subject of the September meeting, as the town hall chief announced.

Then one also wants to present the alternative plans for the aforementioned technical building.

Refurbishment progress uncertain

After the on-site visit, a container solution was discussed, among other things.

According to municipal councilor Georg Brunner (FW), upgrading the old technical room would be a possible solution to get the costs under control.

Brunner was one of the initiators of the on-site visit.

As he predicted, the so-called Plan B could save a good 600,000 euros.

But it is not money alone that counts for the many outdoor pool fans in and around Tegernbach. A not insignificant role in the crisis talks held so far also always played whether the bathroom will remain closed during the course of the renovation next year. Proponents of an alternative solution hope to be able to save the 2022 bathing season.

The skeptics, who inevitably include Krumbucher, believe, however, that this will not be possible in time.

In response to a renewed FT request, the town hall chief now stated that the three to five-month renovation work could not begin until March next year.

According to Krumbucher, one can think that it will be tight for the coming bathing season.

However, Krumbucher expressly refuses to oppose a timely opening and a correspondingly timed renovation.

He would love to jump into the pool himself in the coming year, the town hall chief repeated a wish recently formulated in the daily newspaper.
