"It is unfortunate that the Supreme Court has not prevented this unjust and inhumane law," says Lucy Ceballos Félix, of the National Institute of Latinas for Reproductive Health.
Ceballos says he is not surprised that this Wednesday the SB8 law, which prohibits abortions after six weeks of gestation, came into force in Texas, a period in which many women may not even know they are pregnant.
