The famous Turkish writer and novelist Ahmet Altan criticized the transformation of the Turkish regime, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, into a political weapon to serve his interests and take revenge on his political opponents.
The Turkish newspaper, Zaman, quoted Altan as saying today, in his first statement after his release, that the situation in Turkey is very bad and that judges cannot rule with justice because they fear that Erdogan's regime will exile them, calling on judges in Turkey to be brave and not be afraid to rule with justice.
Altan called on judges not to destroy people's lives out of fear, whatever the circumstances, and reject any justification for politicizing the judiciary.
It is noteworthy that the systematic campaigns of repression and arbitrary arrests launched by the Turkish regime against opponents and opponents of its policies for several years have turned the judiciary in Turkey into a weapon in the hands of Erdogan, through which he achieves what he wants after taking control of this apparatus and ending its independence completely.
