U.S. President Joe Biden tonight (Monday) unveiled the third vaccine against Corona, just days after it was approved by federal health officials for the 65+ age group.
"We know that in order to defeat this epidemic and to save lives - we must get vaccinated," Biden said before receiving the booster.
"So, please, do the right thing. Get the booster. It can save your life and it can save the lives of those around you."
Biden, 78, received the first two doses of the vaccine in January.
He said First Lady Jill Biden will also receive the booster soon, explaining that she was not present at the event because she teaches (Jill Biden is a professor at the College of Virginia).
According to Biden, fully vaccinated Americans are already protected from serious diseases, and called on people who have not received the first two vaccines to do so as soon as possible.
"This is an epidemic of unvaccinated. That's why I ask Americans to get vaccinated wherever I can," Biden said.
