The Theater of the Artists Syndicate in Aleppo hosted the critical theatrical work “Neither Halal nor Haram” with the participation of a group of young actors and the supervision of the Aleppo National Theater Assembly.
Abdel Halim Hariri, head of the Aleppo branch of the Syndicate of Artists, said in a statement to SANA reporter, the syndicate’s role in supporting young talents by implementing a series of activities that support the artistic movement with conscious and educated youth.
The artist Ahmed Makarati, director of the Aleppo National Theater Association, stated that the theatrical work “Neither Halal nor Haram” is the result of the individual effort of a group of young theater people who translated their love for the stage through this purposeful work.
Mahmoud Shawwa, the author and director of the work, explained that the text revolves around the youth group and their problems in terms of their living conditions and the difficulty of marriage in light of the current circumstances and reality in a critical and purposeful social comic format, pointing to the interaction of the large audience with the contemporary ideas and issues contained in the work.
The young actress, Munia Al-Hallaq, embodied the role of a girl who wishes to find a good husband who can secure her livelihood in these difficult circumstances, and she is forced to make some concessions in order to live with her partner, to send a message to society in which she calls for easing the requirements of marriage.
The young actress, Zahra Jamil, indicated that the offer message emphasizes choosing the right partner in terms of age and the need for an understanding between the two parties.
And the actor, Obada Haris, embodied the starring role in the theatrical work, which provides a set of solutions to the problems presented, including the call to support each other and provide assistance to others.
From the audience, Jamil Barakat saw that these activities restore the glory of the Aleppo theater, especially in light of the current circumstances, as they convey the suffering of the street in a comic form that draws a smile on faces.
