Munich - Bavaria's rail traffic will get better from December 12th: There are more connections and it is often faster: At the same time, however, the railways are also increasing their prices by an average of 1.9 percent.
First of all, the good news: In long-distance transport, Munich * will benefit from an ICE Sprinter line from December, which runs twice a day to Nuremberg, Frankfurt Airport, Cologne and Düsseldorf and back again.
The company announced that it would take less than four hours to get from Munich to Cologne with the ICE.
The offer for particularly fast connections to Berlin is to be expanded, another ICE is to start at around 8 p.m. in Munich and reach the capital in less than four hours.

For trips to the Free State, a Sprinter connection also starts at around 8 p.m. in Berlin towards Bavaria. In addition, the railway wants to use larger ICEs with more than 900 seats on the line from Munich and Augsburg * via Stuttgart, Frankfurt Airport to the Rhine / Ruhr metropolitan area. From December onwards, things will also go faster to Switzerland: The ECE, which has been traveling from Munich to Zurich since last year, is half an hour faster - until April, however, only every second train will benefit from this, after which all trains will be equipped with the new technology, the waiting times will increase makes the Swiss border superfluous. Then you drive to the Swiss banking metropolis in 3:55.
Local traffic is also getting faster in the direction of Lindau: On the route via Memmingen that was electrified for the ECEs to Zurich last year, the British Go-Ahead is starting up with new trains: the travel time to Memmingen is shortened in local traffic from one and a half to 1:05 hours, to Lindau from two and a half to three to 2:25 hours.

Season tickets and individual tickets then cost 1.9 percent more.
