The United States is trying to decipher: Why is the corona virus spreading in two-month waves? | Israel Today

In the U.S., the daily number of cases, which climbed again during the months of July and August, has fallen sharply since September by 35 percent.

Around the world, a sharp drop in the daily rate of infection in Corona has been observed since the beginning of September, and experts have not yet been able to pinpoint the cause.

In the United States, the daily number of cases, which has climbed sharply during the months of July and August, has fallen sharply since September by 35 percent. Sharp and then a decrease of sharp at the same speed.

"The most plausible explanation for this cyclicity is the biological properties of the virus in combination with social circuits," it read.

"The virus may like to infect some and not other populations, and after most members of the vulnerable populations have been exposed, the virus has retreated. And variants may need two months until they can infect a medium-sized community," it read.

This is evident in previous waves in the past year in India, Thailand, Indonesia, France, Spain and the UK: the "Delta" variant led to a jump in cases of about two months and then retreated.

However the Times warned that this trend does not mean that after two months there is always a drop in waves.

For example in the UK, although the previous waves were of two months, currently the infection goes up and down without a clear trend.

And there are other factors - like the coming winter - that can cause a spike in morbidity.
