As early as 2002, the Fahrenzhausen neighborhood aid called for a care facility for senior citizens - but nothing has happened so far.

Now the social debate has started again.

Fahrenzhausen

- Theresia Stadlbauer had a lot to tell when she presented the neighborhood help to the Fahrenzhausen municipal council. The message to the municipal decision-makers, which is really close to her heart, came only at the end - and it was unmistakable: “Everyone around us has something in care for the elderly, only we don't.” The volunteer from the board of directors of Neighborhood Aid tried with clear, emotional words to initiate a social debate.

Theresia Stadlbauer recalled that the association founded in 1995 had already applied for a care facility for senior citizens in 2002, which should be centrally located in Unterbruck.

At the time, only one plot of land in the flood plain was discussed, "and then everything petered out a bit".

With that, the subject has been dealt with, "and that hurts a bit".

She directed a clear criticism of the local council: “You don't have to reinvent the wheel.

But you just have to do something.

Other things always seem to be more important here. "

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.

Stadlbauer reported that the neighborhood help was aware of five people who had to move away in the past three months because their relatives could no longer provide care at home. The councilor Eva Stocker, who is also involved in neighborhood help, was able to confirm Theresia Stadlbauer's words and went one step further. She warned “that people also have financial worries among us. We don't see these people and mostly don't know them either, but they are also our community citizens. ”Stocker clearly stated that in her 20 years as a councilor,“ social policy has never played a major role ”. Mayor Heinrich Stadlbauer declared, that financial problems of citizens and families from Fahrenzhausen and its districts would not reach the municipal council or the municipal administration. Stadlbauer also gave insights into how refugees live in Fahrenzhausen. She emphasized that you don't wait up to four years for German courses to be approved. This is where the association steps in with voluntary courses: "I speak English with the refugees in the first year, German in the second and Bavarian in the third."

The discussion finally ended with the result that social policy should become an important part of the program at the next meeting of the municipal council.

And Eva Stocker particularly praised the work of Theresia Stadlbauer at the head of the association: "If the resi stops, we will not find a successor for the many hours worked." During a visit to the municipality of Kirchanschöring, which is comparable to Fahrenzhausen in terms of population One person is permanently employed in the community who has about as many tasks as Theresia Stadlbauer, says Stocker.

Good to know

The neighborhood help in Fahrenzhausen has a pool of around 30 to 40 helpers and an annual turnover of around 3,000 euros. The association is financed by donations and has only received small grants from the community for anniversaries in the past 30 years. At the presentation, Theresia Stadlbauer emphasized that you work where you are needed. Above all, you want to give people a voice that doesn't seem to have any in public.

The tasks of the neighborhood help have changed again and again over the years. The association took care of the holiday program until 2015, when the Zweckverband Jugend took over the task. Otherwise, the areas have rather expanded. Today, the neighborhood help is the roof for the children's park, crawling group, senior citizen trips, repair café or the toy bazaar at the Advent market. Since August 2012, the refugees arriving in Fahrenzhausen have also been supported. In total, the NBH has already looked after 175 people and currently has four accommodations with around 50 people. "Many have found a home here and would like to stay here," says Stadlbauer.

The community got involved with several applications.

With an application in 2004, the school expansion with a new after-school care center was initiated.

The association also managed to set up an integration group in the parish kindergarten.

In 1998 a senior citizen officer was requested, and the office was created.
