The Minister of Construction and Housing, Zeev Elkin, is expected to announce tomorrow (Monday) at the Makor Rishon conference to promote settlement in the Golan Heights, that the Israel Land Authority will market 99 plots of land for construction at the Trump level during 2021.
In June 2019, the previous government converted the old Nahal holding in the south of the plateau in the name of the previous American president, after it recognized Israel's sovereignty over the Golan Heights. So far, only 20 families live in temporary housing. .
The Ministry of Construction and Housing is currently working on promoting a government decision in which the Golan population will be doubled by 2026 and an additional 7,000 housing units will be marketed in the area.

According to the plan, about 4,000 housing units will be marketed in the coming years in the rural localities in the Golan Regional Council, and the Golan Heights population in the rural localities will be doubled to 8,400 households in order to strengthen and develop the existing localities in the area.
The Ministry of Construction and Housing also promotes a basket of support-based benefits for localities in which the new housing units will be marketed.
"The length and breadth of the Golan Heights is a strategic and very important region of the country," said Minister Zeev Elkin.
"The plan to double the population will strengthen the Golan Heights along with upgrading and building the infrastructure necessary for the development of the settlements. While on the Syrian side of the border we prevent the establishment of Iran and terrorist organizations, on the Israeli side we will continue, deepen, expand and even double the settlement."
Aviad Friedman, Director General of the Ministry of Construction and Housing, said: "Implementing the decision will significantly improve the quality of life of Golan Heights residents and open up a variety of opportunities for them that come with strengthening and increasing the local population.
"Promoting the north is a major goal in the ministry's activities, so we use all the tools at our disposal to build for its implementation, in cooperation with local factors, with the understanding that strengthening the north means strengthening the whole country."
