You should buy an Apple Watch Series 7 if ...
You use an iPhone
The Apple Watch Series 7, like previous Apple Watch models, continues to work only with an iPhone.
The only exception to the iPhone rule for Apple Watch users is if you set up an Apple Watch for a family member, such as a child although even then, that Apple Watch will have to be set up with an iPhone before it can be used.
You think a bigger screen is a must
The Series 7 display is the largest Apple has ever used in one of its watches, at 41mm or 45mm.
While the Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic are available in 40mm or 44mm sizes, with a circular display rather than the square design of the Apple Watch.
Both versions include a new full-size keyboard that you can use to reply to messages and emails or take advantage of the larger screen space by using the new watch faces that have more space.

You want a fashionable smartwatch
Not only does Apple routinely release new Apple Watch bands, but there are countless third-party watch bands available for all Apple Watch models.
Apple's own watch bands range in price from $ 50 to $ 849 for a Hermès brand band.
The Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic have options, but they are not as prominent or readily available as those on the Apple Watch.
You should buy a Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 if ...
You have an Android phone
Unlike previous Samsung wearables that worked with the iPhone and Android devices, the Galaxy Watch 4 is only compatible with Android phones.
The Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic are the first two smartwatches to use the Wear operating system powered by Samsung, and part of that transition has meant abandoning iPhone support.

You want all the sensors
Samsung's Galaxy Watch 4 has the same health sensors as the Apple Watch Series 7, plus the added option of being able to read your body mass index.
This is a novel feature for a wearable device, although we are not completely convinced of it, considering that most scales already calculate that same information for you.
But it's certainly a feature that sets the Galaxy Watch 4 apart from the competition.
You like rotating bezels
In conclusion
The essence of the debate between buying an Apple Watch Series (
USD $ 529 /
MX $ 12,799) 7 or Samsung's Galaxy Watch 4 (
USD $ 249 /
MX $ 5,208) starts and ends with the type of phone you use.
If you have an iPhone, the Apple Watch is the best smartwatch you can get, hands down.
Here you can read our full experience with the Apple Watch Series 7 and all the improvements it brings over the previous generation.
If you're using Android, you've got a lot more options, but the Galaxy Watch 4 is the first to run a next-gen operating system that offers the best of Google's app ecosystem and Samsung's wearable knowledge and performance.
The combination of the two make up the best Android-based smartwatch we've seen to date.
