An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit the Japanese capital Tokyo today, but no injuries or damages were reported.

Reuters quoted Japanese broadcaster NHK as saying that the epicenter of the quake was located in Ibaraki, north of the capital, which caused buildings to shake.

No tsunami warning was issued due to the quake.
