The incidences in Bavaria are increasing.

In Nuremberg, the health department cannot keep up with the processing of the cases.

This also affects those affected.

Nuremberg - The 7-day incidence * in the Franconian metropolis has almost doubled within just under two weeks.

On October 18th it had a value of 129.2, on Friday (October 29th) it was already at 223.8.

Due to the sudden increase in new Corona * infections, the city of Nuremberg * is currently unable to keep up with the processing.

Several hundred cases have not yet been registered by the health department, the city announced on Sunday (October 31).

There are therefore delays in contacting those affected.

Corona situation in Nuremberg: RKI case numbers do not reflect the real situation

This also has an impact on the number of cases reported to the State Office for Health and Food Safety.

These form the basis for the figures published by the Robert Koch Institute * (RKI).

The RKI reports relating to Nuremberg would therefore not reflect the real situation in the coming days, but would be significantly below the actual numbers, it said.

The health department has therefore strengthened the team that processes the reports as much as possible at short notice.

Nevertheless, contacting infected people is currently delayed.

Those newly infected with the corona should inform contact persons themselves

Those who tested positive should immediately put themselves into isolation, the message continues.

"The infected are asked to personally inform people with whom they have been in close contact in the last two days." Close contact persons would also have to go into quarantine.

The duration is currently ten days.

However, if no symptoms have occurred after seven days and you can show a negative antigen test, those affected may shorten the quarantine.
