For their part, Belarusian border guards said on Saturday that the man died on the Polish side of the border after crossing it from Belarus.
Belarusian border guards said in a statement that their Polish counterparts had forced other migrants to drag the body to the Belarusian side of the border.
A spokesman for the Polish border guards quoted by the daily Gazeta Wyborcza assured that "if such an incident had occurred on the Polish side, the border guard services would have been informed".
According to Gazeta Wyborcza, seven of the ten migrants who died crossing the border were found dead on the Polish side.
Contacted by AFP, the Polish border guard services did not immediately provide any further information.
Thousands of migrants, mostly from Africa and the Middle East, have crossed or attempted to cross the Belarusian border in recent months into Lithuania, Poland or Latvia.
The European Union suspects Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko of having deliberately provoked this migratory movement in response to the economic sanctions it has taken against the repression against the opposition in his country.
Migrants have reported that Belarusian forces often force them to cross the border and that they are turned back by Polish border guards, as a result of which they remain stranded at the border in increasingly difficult weather conditions.
