The lifting of the Mose dams tonight protected Venice from the first very sustained high water of the season.
A tide that also due to the effect of the wind, reached different ridge measurements in the various points of the tide gauge: from 123 cm at the CNR platform, to 133 cm at Malamocco, to 139 cm recorded at the Lido dam, here due to the effect of the bagging of the mass of water caused by the sirocco.
At Punta della Salute, in the city, the tide measurement stopped at 83 cm, with a differential of half a meter from the sea level above the dams.
The situation improved when the sirocco wind, which reached gusts of 65-70 km per hour, turned from the west.
The experts of the tide center of the Municipality have highlighted how the phenomenon was influenced by the strong weather contribution due to bad weather (for a few hours it remained above 80 centimeters).
