Two northern residents were detained this morning (Tuesday) for questioning on suspicion of threatening the head of public health services, Dr. Sharon Elrai Price, on social media. The police are continuing to investigate the case.
The two, a 38-year-old resident of Tiberias and a 40-year-old resident of Hatzor who, since being detained, have been interrogated and released under restrictive conditions, were located by the police through technological means and in cooperation with other units.

The delay was made after Elrei Price was attached to a security guard following the many attacks she suffers on social media due to the fight against the corona plague in Israel and following the campaign she is running to encourage vaccinations against the virus.
As part of strengthening security around the head of public health services at the Ministry of Health, a decision made by Minister of Internal Security Amar Bar-Lev last Thursday after a conversation with Commissioner Kobi Shabtai, the tours around her home will be intensified.
A joint statement from the Ministry of Health and the Israel Police states: "Dr. Sharon Elrai Price has been accompanied by security by a distress button and reinforced security activities around her home for several months, following threats and situation assessments carried out continuously by the Israel Police."

As you may recall, the police opened an investigation on Thursday due to a complaint filed by the Ministry of Health's security officer about social media posts against Dr. Elrai Price.
