Due to the rainy season, a landslide covered two houses in Mallama, a municipality located in the department of Nariño, in southwestern Colombia.
The phenomenon occurred in the early hours of this Tuesday and so far there have been 6 dead, 11 injured and 10 missing, according to Mayor Óscar Bastidas in statements to Caracol.
Authorities from the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD) installed a unified command post to monitor and evaluate actions.
At this meeting, the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (Ideam) of Colombia presented a forecast for the next few days, in which, in a generalized way, precipitation with enough cloudiness is expected in much of the country, they reported in a series of tweets.
