Hit by a driver in the evening of Monday in Poissy, the infant is much better this Tuesday. The motorist, at first on the run, left

Despite the shock, the 4 month old boy is saved.

"The baby is much better, he is doing extraordinarily well", tells us Karl Olive, the mayor (DVD) of Poissy.

The day before, around 8 p.m., the infant was run over on a pedestrian crossing by a motorist while he was in his stroller with his mother, accompanied by his daughter and a cousin of the latter.

The accident took place at the intersection of avenue du Maréchal-Lyautey and avenue de la Maladrerie, near the hospital.

Like the rest of the city since October 22, the road is limited to 30 km / h.

The small victim was immediately taken care of by the Bac police, on patrol not far from there, while awaiting the arrival of the firefighters.

The child was then transported in absolute urgency to the Parisian hospital Necker (15th century).

The motorist surrendered to the police

According to a source close to the investigation, the motorist passed while the light was red and then backed up behind the pedestrian crossing.

The man allegedly struck the stroller when starting off when the light turned green.

On the run, he finally went this Monday morning, at 5 am, to the Poissy police station.

While Karl Olive had called him to surrender and the area was monitored by cameras, the driver who knew he was easily identifiable, admitted the facts and was taken into police custody.

For now, it is not known whether this city resident was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

His vehicle was immediately impounded.
