The Israeli star will step into the shoes of Julia Roberts and Charlize Theron, and will play the evil stepmother in a new live-action adaptation of the well-known legend

Gal Gadot will play the role of the evil queen in Disney's new film adaptation of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs."

In doing so, she steps into the shoes of Julia Roberts and Charlize Theron who played the role in previous adaptations of the legend ("Mirror Mirror: The True Story" and "Snow White and the Hunter").

This joins a long list of of Gadot's future projects that are expected to come up soon.

Among other things, she will star in the film about the Queen of Egypt Cleopatra, in a spy thriller called "Heart of Stone", in a drama film in which she will play the Righteous Among the Nations Irina Sandler and in a mini-series intended for streaming service Apple TV Plus about former Hollywood star Hedi Lamar.

The new adaptation of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" is a live-action version of the well-known Grimm Brothers legend.

Disney Studios attaches extraordinary importance to this legend as it was the first full-length animated film in history, released in 1937, and the first Disney studio film ever produced.

The original film is considered a significant piece of history, and a copy of it is preserved in the U.S. National Film Archive.

According to legend, the main plot axis is the evil queen's jealousy of the beautiful Snow White.

The most memorable sentence from the story is "Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the most beautiful in the whole city?"

- A question that the Queen asks and to her displeasure is answered again and again because this is Snow White.

In June, it was announced that 20-year-old YouTube star Rachel Zagler would play Snow White.

Zagler also stars in a remake of the musical "The Story of the Suburbs" directed by Steven Spielberg, which will finally be released next month.

The new version of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" will be directed by Mark Webb ("500 Days with Summer", "The Amazing Spider-Man") and the soundtrack will be entrusted to the Oscar-winning duo of Benge Pasquez and Justin Paul.

The two will write original songs, so it seems that we will hear Gal Gadot sing as well.

The film joins a string of live-action Disney adaptations of classic legends that have been successful as animated films, such as "Beauty and the Beast" with Emma Watson as Bell (which grossed $ 1.26 billion), "Malificent" with Angelina Jolie and "The Little Mermaid" Starring young singer Halle Bailey as Ariel the Mermaid, which will be released in 2023.
