Six miners were killed and two others were injured in an explosion inside a mine in Kazakhstan.

Sputnik quoted the Karaganda press service as saying that the explosion occurred this morning in a mine in the town of Abyei in the province, while 64 workers were inside, killing six workers on the spot and wounding two others, while the rest of the 56 were able to survive.

Immediately, mining operations in the mine were suspended, more than 20 rescuers and three vehicles were deployed, and Kazakh Prime Minister Askar Mamin ordered the formation of a special committee to investigate the causes and circumstances of the accident.
