The artist Mamdouh al-Atrash, with his rich career in theatre, cinema and television, many of which he dedicated to the homeland and its causes, were appreciated and honored at the celebration hosted by the Palace of Culture in the city of As-Suwayda today.

The formation of various genders, multiple visual languages ​​and different materials attended the celebration as part of the efforts of its organizers to celebrate art through art and spread love and knowledge through beauty and creativity.

The celebration included an art exhibition by the plastic artist Kamy Al-Halabi, entitled "Greetings to the artist Mamdouh Al-Atrash."

The exhibition was accompanied by a critical symposium in which the Chairman of the Aram Forum for Culture and Arts, artist and writer Akram Rafea Nasr, accompanied by a visual presentation of the works of a number of artists of the modern Syrian plastic movement, spoke about the role of art in building bridges of love and cooperation, spreading lofty human values, developing aesthetic taste, and addressing issues of society and man, which he tried Al-Halabi artist, Secretary of the Forum, to present it in his art exhibition in appreciation and love for the artist Al-Atrash, the founding member of the Forum, who made great efforts on the national scene and presented a sincere work in order to revitalize the theatrical and artistic movement in Syria and the Arab world.

For her part, a member of the faculty at the Second College of Fine Arts in Sweida, Dr. Iqbal Al-Safadi, considered that this exhibition is a contribution to the integration of all forms of arts and their convergence with each other, noting what the Al-Halabi artist presented in his exhibition as a unique mixture of diversity between realism and realism, impressionism and symbolism, leading to works that touched abstraction in Its content and expressed in multiple ways carry a unified and organized aesthetic value.

In turn, a member of the editorial board of the Dialogue Al-Ru’ya magazine reviewed a statement of several stations from the artist’s artistic career, which is full of achievements, which extends for nearly half a century, accompanied by a short documentary film about his most prominent works in theatre, cinema and television, written, directed and represented, and his constant quest to expose the falsehood of the Zionist project, as well as presenting it over the years. The war on Syria is a theatrical work that embodies the reality and the steadfastness of the Syrian people, in addition to its founding in the city of As-Suwayda, adding a homeland as a platform for dialogue where art, thought, science and politics from different walks meet to discuss reality in all its manifestations.

The celebration also included the presentation of a dance performance by the Syrian Scheherazade Troupe for Dance Theater, designed by the artist Maha Al-Atrash.

During her attendance at the ceremony, Minister of Culture Dr. Lubana Mushawah noted that the activity combined composition with drama to celebrate the creativity of the artist Al-Atrash in his homeland and among his family in appreciation of his giving as a living example of what the people of Suwayda of different generations offer to support the Syrian cultural movement.

For his part, the artist Mamdouh al-Atrash expressed in a statement to SANA reporter his thanks and appreciation for this gesture, especially that honoring between parents has a special taste and flavor because it shows the sincere love of the people who were raised among them and gave him strength and taught him the love of the homeland, considering that this honor is a medal in the human heart and an incentive to He gives more and continues the message of conveying the reality of life and people's pain.

On the sidelines of the celebration, the Minister of Culture inaugurated two exhibitions within the Seventh Folklore Festival, one of the material heritage belongings of Ghazi Hamza University, which includes brass, agricultural tools, pottery, folk clothes, and a group of heritage art paintings, some of which depicted symbols of the national struggle and others, and the second is an exhibition and workshop for a group of women making handicrafts with honoring a number of those in charge of them.

At the conclusion of the celebration, shields of appreciation were presented in honor of the artist Mamdouh Al-Atrash by the Suwayda Governorate, the Arab-Armenian International Legal Council, Aounak Company for Administrative Services and Development, and a portrait of the artist honored by the Aram Forum for Culture and Arts.

The celebration was attended by official, artistic and civil activities.
