Cultural and social titles and critical studies in addition to children's literature, novels and poetry presented by the monthly book fair held by the branch of the Arab Writers Union and Tartous University in the Faculty of Economics.

The head of the Writers Union branch in Tartous, Munther Issa, said in a statement to SANA that the exhibition comes from the slogan of investing in knowledge and in implementation of one of the union’s goals to spread culture, science and knowledge among the various segments of society, particularly university students and youth at reduced prices, as the book is sold at 200 Syrian pounds, which is a low price compared to the its cost.

Issa confirmed that the Writers Union continues to hold exhibitions in various colleges, indicating that this exhibition is the second that is accompanied by a literary cultural activity for young talents in the college to adopt them to activate the work of the Union and the cultural movement.

The head of the Student Union branch in the governorate, Dr. Hammam Kanaj, spoke about the importance of the exhibition, which comes as a step in the field of cooperation between the university and the Writers Union to spread culture and expand students' perceptions and their diverse cultural knowledge, and it is an invitation to all those interested in cultural affairs to visit the exhibition.

The College of Economics aimed to host the exhibition, according to its Dean, Dr. Talal Suleiman, to reach the largest segment of students and youth and urge them to read to increase their cultural and literary information in general.

A number of college students and visitors to the exhibition stressed its importance and its richness with many books that meet their cultural needs and enrich their knowledge, as mentioned by the student Mustafa Hammoud, while the student Abeer Al-Ajji considered it an opportunity to acquire books at a very reasonable price for all, and Ghaida Al-Ali praised this step that allows her to buy the largest number of Books for being an employee and keen to read various books.
