A blow to landlords in Eilat: The
municipality will ban villas for rent to Airbnb.
The news was given by the mayor, Eli Lankri, at the city real estate conference held in the city. As part of his conference speech, the mayor said: "We set the municipality's policy on the subject. We will completely ban the rental of private villas, which causes major noise and nuisance damage within the neighborhoods.
At the same time, it became known that the Israel Land Authority is publishing two joint tenders with the Ministry of Tourism for the construction of 1,893 new accommodation units in Eilat.
In one of them, five hotel and holiday complexes will be marketed in the field district of Eilat, for the construction of 721 hotel accommodation units.
In the second tender, two complexes for hotels and resorts in the eastern lagoon on the north coast of Eilat will be marketed, for the construction of 1,172 hotel accommodation units.
The plan also includes about 2,200 hotel accommodation units of all kinds, with the height of construction in the plan being up to six floors at the back while in the front located adjacent to the beach, the height of construction will be 3 floors, so there will be open views and views of the sea in all areas.
