The Nicaraguan government decided to break relations with Taiwan and will only recognize China, as announced by Foreign Minister Denis Moncada at a press conference this afternoon.
Moncada said that "the People's Republic of China is the only legitimate government that represents all of China and Taiwan is an inalienable part of Chinese territory."
As a result, starting this Thursday, Nicaragua stops having any official contact with Taiwan.
