Ayham Al-Hamwi, who also took the vaccine while he was in the mall with his family for shopping, pointed out the importance of this initiative carried out by the Ministry of Health in terms of delivering the vaccine to various places where there are a large number of people, and that the responsibility to protect society from communicable diseases is everyone's responsibility, stressing that he encourages taking the vaccine. And he chose one of its types after consulting the mobile medical team.
Khaddour and Al-Hamwi, along with about 160 people who visited the mall, received the Corona vaccine, which is provided by the Ministry of Health for free through mobile teams, with the aim of increasing the number of people vaccinated against the virus and raising community awareness of the importance of this to achieve health security in the community, according to the director of the seventh health zone in the Damascus Health Directorate, Dr. Kifah Khartalk.
Dr. Khartalk stressed the importance of taking the vaccine to reduce the symptoms of infection with the virus if it occurs and the rates of hospitalization and deaths, indicating that the ministry, in addition to giving the vaccine in health centers, launched more than a month ago mobile teams to provide the vaccine to those who wish to work in ministries, government institutions, universities and a number of public places such as malls. And commercial markets and various places that witness large gatherings, and they continue to do so to reach the largest number of people.
In turn, the vaccine official in the mobile team, Youssef Abdel Karim, indicated that this step comes to popularize the health culture by taking the vaccine to achieve individual and collective protection, as the percentage of people over the age of 18 who received the Corona vaccine must reach more than 60 percent to achieve health security in the community, explaining that the dose will be given The second of the vaccine in the same place according to the specified date or through a health center according to the desire of the person receiving the vaccine.
The director of human resources in the mall pointed out that the mall management was keen to provide the vaccine to its workers in coordination with the Ministry of Health, and then the segment of those wishing for the vaccine expanded to include those who wanted to visit the mall.
It is noteworthy that since the end of last October, the Ministry of Health has expanded the number of health centers that provide vaccines against the Corona virus in all governorates to become 967 centers and hospitals, in addition to allocating 200 mobile teams to visit ministries and public authorities to give the vaccine to those who wish.
