German Foreign Minister Annalena Barbock today expressed pessimism about the possibility of a nuclear deal between the six powers and Iran, which would allow the United States to return to an agreement signed in 2015 and lead to the lifting of sanctions on Iran.
"We have seen in recent days that we have not made any hourly progress, this is due to the Iranian proposals that simply threw the negotiations half a year back," the minister said during a meeting of the seven powers in the city of Liverpool in the UK.

"Iran has withdrawn from all compromises made in previous rounds of nuclear talks while demanding more in the current talks," a senior U.S. State Department official said last week.
