The man who wanted to reconcile the Americans, after Donald Trump's four-year mandate, finds himself in a situation of extremely serious and unprecedented cleavage in American society.
According to a Gallup poll, he achieved the paradoxical feat of holding the lowest approval rating at this stage in sixty-eight years in the opposition party electorate (Republicans, 3%), while having the 'one of the highest approval ratings among voters in his own party (Democrats, 87%).
Even Trump during the same period of his tenure had a slightly higher approval rating in the camp opposite, at 7%.
