In New York, 21 years ago Pete Mercurio was on his way to meet Danny Stewart when he found a newborn baby in the New York subway.
Mercurio informed the police and the baby was taken to a hospital.
Three months later, in a hearing on the day of the discovery, the judge asked them if they wanted to adopt him.
Thanks to a pilot program that sought to speed up the adoption processes, the couple were able to adopt the baby they named Kevin.
