On the occasion of Christmas and New Year's Eve, a large Christmas tree was celebrated this evening by lighting a large Christmas tree in the square of the old church of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Hama in the city of Hama.
In statements to SANA’s reporter, Metropolitan Nicolas Baalbaki of Hama expressed his hope that this year’s Christmas will be seasons of goodness, joy and victory for Syria, its army and people over terrorism, and that Syria will enjoy a new birth in which it will move from the stage of pain and sorrow to the stage of victory, happiness, reconstruction and peace thanks to the sacrifices and heroisms of the army. The Syrian Arab and the steadfastness of the sons of the homeland and its wise leadership.
Shadi Saadeh, the Secretary of the Youth Branch in Hama, considered that lighting the tree is a message of goodness, love and peace, and renewed hope for Syria's return to its previous era in safety, development and reconstruction.
Yara Shartouh, one of the participants in the ceremony, expressed her hope that this year's Christmas will be a flash of joy that brings together all Syrians of all sects, and that the new year will bring safety and peace to all parts of the country.
