The future of the Josef-Hofmiller-Gymnasium has become a political issue.

The location issue divides the city council.

Now the center of Freising is daring a foray.

Freising

- A feasibility study in the matter of new building or renovation of the Josef-Hofmiller-Gymnasium has now applied for the parliamentary group of the Freising center (FSM) to OB Tobias Eschenbacher.

The study is to evaluate the economic, ecological and social effects, as spokesman Lukas Reinhart writes.

The FSM is not the first party to comment on the future of the Josef-Hofmiller-Gymnasium.

Several council groups have already formulated opinions.

“Some favored a new building on the green field, others consider the previous location with city center connection to be the right one,” writes Reinhart.

"The district and city councils of the Freising Center are amazed at such a simply structured approach in the party landscape with complex planning."

FSM demands that the school family be included in the decision

With the exception of the swimming pool, according to the FSM, “the school's need for renovation has not been determined,” said Reinhart.

“It is also not defined what need the school sees for future-oriented development.

With regard to a new building on the green meadow, no studies have been carried out to date with regard to accessibility, the costs for the way to school or the use of space.

Especially since the availability of space is limited in the city of Freising.

From an ecological point of view, the embodied energy that has already been invested in the existing location should also be assessed. "

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The FSM therefore requests a feasibility study that weighs the pros and cons.

The open questions should also be weighed up with the school family in particular.

The experience of the teaching staff, parents and students is important in order to get the right result.
