Jauch has a new “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” Record winner: He made a mistake with her, of all people

Renate Muddemann has been the new record winner since the last "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" broadcast on December 13th.

Renate Muddemann caught the eye of the last “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” Broadcast.

She is now going down in the history of the format as a new record winner.

Cologne - she is 83 years old and set a record in the last broadcast of “Wer wird Millionär?” (RTL *).

But Renate Muddemann has not pocketed the highest winnings of a million, no, she is now the oldest winner of all time.

The woman from Steinfurt was already sitting in the candidate chair with Günther Jauch * the week before.

At that time, she introduced herself as "the Queen of Westphalia", as she had already appeared in a television format.

Muddemann was namely a candidate for "Shopping Queen" (VOX *), where she even went home as the winner in the end.

In the first episode of WWM, it only came up to the EUR 2,000 question before the well-known signal ended the broadcast.

That’s what it was all about on December 13th.

It played up to 32,000 euros up to the question and it was tough for Muddemann.

Günther Jauch asked her: "What can only be sold in Russia under this name if it comes from Russia?"

The 83-year-old had champagne, Emmentaler, whiskey or spaghetti as possible answers.

Muddemann had no idea and asked the additional joker.

He worked in a supermarket and knew that in Russia champagne is only sold as sparkling wine.

For the next level of the prize, Jauch wanted to know from her what the most common reason for the ADAC's Yellow Angel roadside assistance operations.

The choices were flat tires, defective car batteries, a smoking engine or an empty tank.

Renate Muddemann didn't know the answer, which is why she called her daughter-in-law's son-in-law.

He guessed the defective car battery.

However, the 83-year-old refused with the words "No, that's rubbish".

She finally gave up out of uncertainty, and that was a good thing.

Because her own answer - the empty tank - would have cost her the hard-won prize money.

The correct choice would actually have been the defective car battery.

So she won 32,000 euros, but Günther Jauch gossiped at the end and awarded Renate Muddemann a sum of 64,000 euros.

That was nonsense, of course, and the original profit remained.
