New York-Sana

Russia emphasized that the original cause of the current problems related to the nuclear deal with Iran lies in US behavior, not Iran.

Russia's first deputy permanent representative to the United Nations, Dmitry Polansky, said during a meeting of the UN Security Council tonight, as reported by Russia Today, that we consider the statements claiming that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action is outdated and that there is a need to update and expand it "are dangerous and irresponsible," noting that the plan It includes a carefully orchestrated balance of interests and must be implemented as approved by the United Nations Security Council in 2015 without exceptions and additions.

"We cannot agree with some of the views that claim that the nuclear agreement has lost its vitality because the Vienna process is proceeding at insufficient speed and there is currently no alternative to the JCPOA," Polanski said.

The first deputy permanent representative of Russia called on the “international community to be objective and not forget that the root cause of all current problems lies precisely in the American behavior and not in Iran, explaining that Russia calls on countries to refrain from exerting any pressure on the progress of the Vienna negotiations on reviving the nuclear agreement.”

The Russian Foreign Ministers, Sergey Lavrov and Iranian Hossein Amir Abdollahian, affirmed during a phone call yesterday their countries' determination to revive the nuclear agreement between Iran and the international group of powers in its original, balanced form.
