The Centre for Health Protection announced yesterday (15th) another Omicron case, a 21-year-old female patient arriving in Hong Kong from the United States who tested positive at the airport. Hong Kong has so far recorded 9 cases involving Omicron.
There are fewer than 10 initial confirmed cases.

In response to a non-local confirmed case that had stayed in Hong Kong, 14 designated places were included in the mandatory test announcement, including Shake Shack, agnès b, IFC mall in Central International Finance Center . LA LOGGIA bis, Mannings Plus, Brandy Melville, as well as Central Pier 6, Mui Wo Ferry Pier, Hong Kong Cultural Center Performing Arts Building, Giàbar Bistro Food & Wine Store, West Street, Sheung Wan, Oreryu Shio-Ramen, Mui Wo Center Deer Horn Restaurant & Bar and Garden Turkish Restaurant, Golden Pavilion at Shun Tak Center in Sheung Wan, Foot Lane Health at Mui Wo Seaview Building and First Class VIP Room at the Airport Universal Hall.
The Centre for Health Protection is saying that the case involves a confirmed case in Taiwan. The patient is a 51-year-old female patient living in Yintaoxuan, 9 Yinkuangwan Road, Mui Wo, Hong Kong.
She tested negative in Hong Kong on November 30, and went to Taiwan from Hong Kong via Cathay Pacific flight CX494 on December 2. The test result on the day of arrival was negative. She tested positive on December 12. The amount is high (Ct value is about 20).
According to the information provided by the patient, she has lost her sense of smell since December 11. She developed eye discomfort and runny nose the next day.
She received two doses of Fubital vaccine in Hong Kong on August 11 and September 1.
For the sake of prudence, places visited by patients in Hong Kong during the incubation period will be included in the mandatory testing announcement.
