Cham Wings Airlines held a party today in the Pakistani city of Karachi on the occasion of the launch of its fourteenth destination from Damascus International Airport to the city.

In his speech during the ceremony, Chargé d'Affairs of the Syrian Embassy in Pakistan, Mazen Obaid, referred to the depth of the historical relations based on mutual respect and cooperation in various fields between Syria and Pakistan, calling for upgrading them in the economic, commercial, tourism and investment fields.

Obaid pointed out that the start of flights between the two countries will help increase the rapprochement between their two friendly peoples, and this step will constitute an incentive for businessmen and industrialists to shorten distances by traveling with one direct flight, indicating that air transport can play an important role in exchanging goods and services between the two sides.

Obaid thanked the Pakistani government, the Ministry of Aviation, the Civil Aviation Authority and the Pakistan Airlines for the facilities and support they provided to resume direct flights from Damascus to Karachi, expressing his hope that these flights would expand to include other Pakistani cities.

For his part, Qutaiba Zahida, director of sales of external stations at Cham Wings Company, said in a statement to the media that the company seeks to expand globally, which contributes to increasing commercial and tourism activities and creating job opportunities in addition to contributing to the dissemination of Syrian culture in the world.

The Director of Air Transport at the General Organization for Civil Aviation in Syria indicated that the number of flights between the two countries could be increased if commercial activity increased, pointing out that the Corporation provides all services, whether for Syrian or Pakistani companies that wish to use Syrian airports during their flights.

Editor-in-chief of the weekly Al-Mosafer Al-Din Al-Din Imtiaz explained that the Pakistani media is encouraging people to travel to Syria so that they can get to know it and its culture closely.

In turn, Mohsen Abbas Dharsi, commercial director of the Pakistani airline "KN", explained that the Pakistani people consider Syria one of the main destinations, expressing his hope that Pakistan will become a destination for Syrian students, as it has a good level in the field of academic sciences.

The ceremony was attended by a number of businessmen, industrialists, investors in the air transport sector, air navigation services, and directors of tourism companies and offices in Karachi.

The ceremony included traditional performances by the Syrian Al-Kharrat band and a song by the artist Naim Hamdi.
