The flash survey conducted by the General Directorate of Healthcare Provision (DGOS) with 1,155 public and private health establishments, published on Thursday, shows that between departures and recruitments, the hospital lost 784 nurses in October (including 568 in the public and 216 in the private) and 22 midwives, but gained 363 nursing assistants and 28 doctors.
That is to say a negative balance of 416 people.
Departures are mainly due to resignations (54%) but also result from lay-off or long-term leave (38%).

In the end, the survey identifies 2112 resignations in one month, or 1,245 nurses, 511 nursing assistants, 314 doctors and 42 midwives.
