- What winners look like can be seen shortly on television: SC Moosham has applied for the “Stars of Sports”, a competition organized by the German Olympic Sports Confederation and the Volks- und Raiffeisenbanken since 2004. With the “Sauba wui i's!” Campaign, the club won the Big Star of Sports in silver and is now represented in the national finals as the state winner of Bavaria. When the award was presented, Bavarian TV was there to shoot a report about the Mooshamers.

“Our goal is to encourage young and old to exercise in nature and thus to get them away from the mobile phone,” wrote Renate Förtsch, responsible for public relations at SC Moosham, in the application to the competition jury. She started the campaign together with coach Michael Hofsäss. “Why shouldn't you be able to collect rubbish while you run?” They asked themselves. So in the first half of 2021 the association called under the motto “Sauba wui i's! - garbage-free, I'm in "a collection campaign into life. "All you have to do is take a rubbish bag with you when cycling, walking, jogging and exercising and collect whatever rubbish you find in nature." "Even a wheelbarrow was among them",reported Renate Förtsch at the end of the campaign at the end of June.

Now, collecting rubbish has become so part of the flesh and blood that it's still part of training runs.

"And if one or the other thoughtless person can be encouraged to dispose of their rubbish correctly in the future instead of in the great outdoors, then the whole thing would have really served its purpose in the eyes of those responsible," says Förtsch.

The jury saw it the same way and awarded the club the prize of 2500 euros and the national victory.

The Raiffeisenbank topped up the amount by a further 250 euros.

"If you think regionally and simply let your imagination run wild when volunteering," said Manfred Klaar, member of the board of the Raiffeisenbank in Oberland, enthusiastically, "such great things come out."

Together with his colleague Marion Waizmann from Marketing, Manfred Klaar insisted on congratulating the winners of the Raiffeisen Oberland Challenge (ROC).

This year, due to Corona, only four ROC runs could be held in competition mode, the award ceremony had to be canceled for the same reason.

For SC Moosham in the first places in their category Tamara Estner, Marie Lachenmaier, Valentin Fels, Florian Hofsäss, Elisabeth Harrer, Seppi Schilcher and the siblings Theresia and Katharina Boschner landed at the top.

In addition to the certificates, coach Michael Hofsäss had another surprise in his luggage.

Every athlete who had completed all four runs was presented with a fragrant Guglhupf.

"That", said the trainer with a wink, "is really a motivation to take part."
