New York-Sana
The United Nations General Assembly in New York renewed, by an overwhelming majority, a resolution supporting the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination.
Wafa news agency reported that the resolution was adopted by a majority of 168 countries who voted in favor of the resolution, four countries opposed it and the Israeli occupation entity, and ten countries abstained.
The Palestine Mission to the United Nations stated in a statement that the resolution reaffirms the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, including the right to have their own independent state, Palestine. Self-determination soon.
The statement added, "The resolution also emphasizes the urgent need to carry out without delay the end of the Israeli occupation and achieve a just and comprehensive settlement based on the relevant United Nations resolutions."
The Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, indicated that this vote indicates an international consensus to support the right of self-determination for the Palestinian people, as well as the support of the international community for the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people despite the occupation measures and the pressure of the United States of America to bring about a change in this principled and consistent international position.
