A driver persistently followed a patrol car on the A8 near Holzkirchen.

The police officers were on the road with the blue lights switched on - and could not get rid of the SUV.

Miesbach - A police spokesman describes an incident on Thursday as an "extension of the cabinet of curiosities".

According to the report, a patrol car from the Munich police was "on the move to a mission in the direction of Rosenheim" at lunchtime.

On the A8 near Holzkirchen, the officers noticed a vehicle in the rearview mirror that was sitting “persistently on their necks” - regardless of the speed, the speed limit or the emergency lanes.

"Even at 180 km / h, the SUV driver wouldn't let go."

After reporting to the headquarters, more patrol vehicles followed each other.

“The journey together led over the Irschenberg to Wasserwiesen, where the surplus vehicle could be fished and stopped.” The 43-year-old from the Miesbach district was on a test drive with a Jaguar SUV “when he felt compelled”, the police car that was on the road with flashing lights to "keep your back free".

The Holzkirchen autobahn police checked the driver for alcohol and drug-typical abnormalities.

A drug pretest was positive - a blood sample was ordered.

"In the search for his driver's license, the police officers found what they were looking for and produced two, which shouldn't be," the spokesman wrote.

The police prosecutor reported you as lost, but withheld your finding again, which was not allowed to happen after you had made an affidavit.

The dealership that had rented the Jaguar for a test drive picked up the car without a scratch.

Investigations are now underway for false affirmation on oath and for driving under the influence of drugs, "but would have to be expanded depending on further approaches".
