Today, the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection has set the selling prices for one kilogram of live broiler on the land of the poultry house and for the consumer in Damascus and its countryside.
The ministry stated in a statement that SANA received a copy of it that in order to set controls for the increase in the prices of live and slaughtered broilers, indicative prices were set for live and slaughtered broilers, so that the selling price of one kilogram of live broiler from the land of the poultry house would be 7,000 Syrian pounds, and the selling price of one kilogram of live broilers to the consumer would be 7,200 pounds, and the price of One kilogram slaughtered and cleaned for 9000 pounds.
The ministry asked the directorates of internal trade and consumer protection in Damascus and the countryside of Damascus to continue to issue bulletins for eggs and chicken “live, slaughtered and its parts, broasted and grilled…” periodically and whenever needed and setting sales prices for all commercial mediation circles. Consumer indicative prices are a ceiling that cannot be exceeded.
The ministry asked the two directorates to intensify field visits to slaughterhouses and broiler sales centers to consumers, and to take the most severe penalties against violators under Legislative Decree No. 8 of 2021.
